Unique Incentive
If you are looking for an unusual venue for your incentive or gala event, look no further than the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
Royal Hospital Kilmainham
The Royal Hospital Kilmainham is a classical jewel amongst Dublin’s historic properties, consistently delighting guests and delegates with its exceptional atmosphere, stately grandeur and unrivalled setting. One of ireland’s oldest buildings and originally inspired by Les Invalides, the RHK was built by James Butler, the Duke of Ormonde and designed by William Robinson, then official State Surveyor General, in the 17th Century. It was always intended as a dualpurpose building, a home for army pensioners but also as a building of distinction that would, it was hoped, mark the starting point of Dublin's development into a city of European standing. Today this historic and tranquil haven is a unique venue ideally suited to host conferences, meetings, gala dinners, product launches and exhibitions.
Set in an untouched 48 acres within the city and boasting formal landscaped gardens and tree lined avenues, the RHK enjoys an ideal location and is easily accessible from all routes. A policy of hosting only one event at any one time guarantees exclusivity and the range of charming and elegant rooms available lends itself to almost any business event. The high ceiling and magnificent windows of The Great Hall are typical of the classical period of the late 1600s, and as the largest room in the RHK, it offers an airy and versatile space for modern day use, able to cater for 370 theatre style, 270 banquet style and 800 for a cocktail reception.
The Baroque Chapel is decidedly different in style, featuring oak carvings, a flamboyant Baroque ceiling and Irish-made stained glass windows, dating from the 19th century. Ideal as a pre dinner reception area for up to 330 persons, it can be used in conjunction with the Johnston Suite as a dining area accommodating up to 144 guests. The Johnston Suite itself consists of four smaller rooms namely the Drawing Room, the Johnston Room, the State Room and the Oak Room and their polished wooden floors and magnificent Waterford crystal chandeliers provide an elegant backdrop for small dinners, lunches, cocktail receptions or as breakout rooms for conferences.
The RHK has gained a superb and well deserved reputation as a lavish venue and is a wonderfully authentic property that is able to meet the needs of event organizers in all areas from ‘unusualness’ and beauty to wheelchair accessibility and parking.
