Main attractions Fanad Lighthouse Standing between idyllic Lough Swilly and Mulroy Bay beach Fanad Head Lighthouse has been voted one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world. Give yourself plenty of time here – take in the spectacular scenery, explore the wild and wonderful natural world and learn more about the lighthouse in the visitor centre. Sliabh Liag Cliffs These cliffs, on Donegal’s south-west Coast, are some of the highest and finest marine cliffs in Europe. To fully appreciate the spectacle, walk the few miles to the cliffs and embrace the exciting scenery as you go with terrific views of the Atlantic, the Sligo Mountains and Donegal Bay. Learn more about the cliffs and their varied history at the Sliabh Liag Visitor Centre. Strandhill Cycle from the seaside village of Strandhill around beautiful Knocknarea Mountain and through the striking lowlands and coast roads with stunning views of Sligo Bay, the Dartry Mountain Range and Coney Island. Stop off at Carrowmore Megalithic tombs and picnic in the giant sand dunes south of Strandhill where you might catch a glimpse of the local seal population. Finish up in Strandhill Village with a relaxing seaweed bath. Connacht Whiskey Distillery The Connacht Whiskey Distillery experience offers visitors an intimate, guided craft distillery tour in a beautiful distillery on the banks of the River Moy in Ballina, north Mayo. Here visitors will learn about the production of whiskey from grain to glass whilst also exploring the history and heritage of Irish spirit making. Westport House & Gardens Nestled in a beautiful 400-acre estate in the heart of Westport town in Co Mayo, and with over 30 rooms on show, this gorgeous 18th century stately home offers visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in life as far back as the 16th century when Grace O’Malley, the Pirate Queen of Connacht ruled land and sea around Clew Bay. Kylemore Abbey & Gardens One of Ireland’s most iconic visitor attractions and home to the Benedictine nuns since 1920, Kylemore Abbey has a fascinating history of tragedy, romance, innovation, spirituality and education.
