Founded in 1731, the RDS is proud to be Ireland’s oldest philanthropic institution. The RDS Foundation is dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts, enterprise, agriculture, science, and technology for generations to come. All the revenue brought in by the RDS venue is put directly into the Foundation, which invests €7 million per year in the future of Ireland. Each year, more than 80 different projects are undertaken and funded by the Society itself, covering the Society’s Foundation activities of Agriculture, Arts, Industry and Science in Ireland.
One of the biggest means of supporting our foundation is opening our doors to the wide variety of multi-purpose events we host. We are known as one of Ireland’s largest and most iconic event spaces. With 43 acres of land, over 22,000 sqm of floor space and 25 spaces for events of all shapes & sizes, the possibilities with the RDS are endless. Not only are we situated not five minutes from the bustling Dublin City Centre, but we are also partnered with nine different hotels, combining 1500 hotel rooms and ranging from 3, 4 & 5 star within walking distance. Stay just minutes from Dublin’s bustling city centre in stylish Ballsbridge where the RDS offers an exclusive location for delegates to relax and enjoy.
Ballsbridge is steeped in heritage, with beautiful Georgian architecture, natural parks and the Grand Canal just a short stroll away. At night the variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants are a buzzing hive of activity for locals and visitors alike. The venue is also ideally positioned to benefit from an excellent public transport infrastructure. Lansdowne DART station is within a 5-minute walk to the village and offers direct access to the city centre. Numerous bus routes serving the city centre and the surrounding suburbs are available in the immediate area as well as the Air Coach service that runs directly to and from Dublin Airport.
